This is ridiculous, but It all started when…
I was twelve years old and showed an interest in filmmaking. At that time my dad was friends with a local videographer in Nashville, TN who, for some reason, let me come film a showcase as his second shooter. It was in a bar called 3rd and Lindsley. After the shoot, which was only two hours, I got paid $50. And, I thought I was rich.
After this shoot I dove into everything film related, mainly focusing on animation, editing, and VFX. By the time I was seventeen I had worked several animation and editing gigs, and cut my teeth developing on screen animations for concert scenes in the movie “Country Strong” featuring Gwyneth Paltrow.
I continued freelance work and climbed the Nashville ladder and eventually came in contact with Justin Key (Orangutan Creative), former Creative Director at Big Machine for Taylor Swift.
I spent four years as Justin’s main cinematographer working on several shoots spanning from small gigs to large scale music videos, and docu-style projects.
In the last year I decided it was time to venture west to Los Angeles. I’m continuing my career as a freelance cinematographer, and look forward to collaborating on future projects that both challenge and help me develop in my skill-set.
